Mojo Hand are a fiery musical troupe stomping out Country Blues from the Deep South on the cobbled streets of London.
At the heart of the band is the long-standing musical relationship between guitarist Graham Farnworth and bassist Rebekah Robertson. Graham plays National Resophonic Guitar influenced by the masters of Delta Blues with a repertoire that spans Robert Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt and the Memphis Jug Band, all delivered in his distinctive growl. Rebekah holds down the groove on Double Bass and sings early jazz numbers about drinking, smoking and general self-destruction, coated in disarmingly sweet and stark vocals. Playing as a four-peice the band now has a swinging rhythm section with the addition of Tim Nugent on Drums and Steve Mathers on Tenor Sax.
This bold and stylistically eclectic line-up is firmly rooted in the traditional music of pre-war America, reinterpreting the genre through each player's musical provenance and breathing new life into old tunes.
