Set to open our doors from 21:30, Get ready for a night of world-class blues piano as Eric Ranzoni brings his unmistakable style to East London. Known as one of the finest blues pianists in the UK, Ranzoni combines virtuosic playing with a distinctive, soulful singing voice and an irresistible stage presence that always gets the crowd moving.
Born in London to Italian parents and raised between Rome and Milan, Ranzoni returned to the capital in 2003 to dedicate himself fully to music. Since then, he has built a reputation as an outstanding live performer, both as a solo artist and alongside some of the biggest names in the blues world.
Since 2009, Ranzoni has been the pianist for Mud Morganfield, the son of blues legend Muddy Waters. Together they have toured major European festivals, appeared on BBC2’s Later with Jools Holland, and shared stages with Robert Plant, John Mayall and Robert Cray. His performances have taken him to prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scott’s, The 100 Club, Boisdale, The Jazz Café and many more.
Dubbed the “Rockin’ Roman,” Ranzoni is also known for his versatility, bringing his own flair to pop, swing and rock ’n’ roll standards in cocktail bars, restaurants and private events. His unique tribute to Memphis Slim has been praised across Europe, while his songwriting has earned him a publishing contract and regular radio airplay, including on Paul Jones’ BBC show.
Awarded “Blues Instrumentalist of the Year” by Jools Holland himself, Ranzoni continues to win fans with every performance. Whether playing solo or with a full band, his shows are rich in energy, warmth and authenticity — a true celebration of the blues and beyond. Don’t miss the chance to see Eric Ranzoni live at Nightjar for a night of unforgettable music.
