Aisha Khan sings American roots music, Jazz, Blues and Rhythm & Blues of the 1940’s/50’s. With a nod to the glamour and sophistication of a bygone era and over 25 years of experience, coupled with an unrivalled passion for the music, she combines outstanding original material with powerful cover versions and performs them all with class, soul, talent and wit. Equal Parts sultry Jazz chanteuse and Rhythm and Blues belter, Aisha easily communicates heartbreak, joy and a range of emotions in between, continuing to honour the tradition of the true Divas.
Aisha’s earliest influences incorporated everything from Elvis and Sarah Vaughan to Billy Bragg and Northern Soul. Naturally drawn to London’s incendiary Rockabilly club scene, she felt the irresistible pull of black American Rhythm & Blues as a call to action, setting up her first band Tiger Lily and the Jitterbugs, with which she performed throughout the UK and Europe for several years at Jazz, Blues and Rock & Roll festivals, clubs and events.

thursday throwdown
So that is Thursday Throwdown exactly? Each Thursday after 11pm, we’re switching it up at Nightjar. Firstly there will be a free, late set of live music from 11.30 pm. But, better than that, thanks to Don Julio, we’re going to drink like it’s 2010! Our special late-night menu is a nod to the days (and prices!) of when Nightjar first opened, fifteen years ago.
A gifted guitarist and singer-songwriter, Mazza has been a defining presence in the UK blues scene since 2009. He has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Little George Sueref, Ian Siegal, and Adam Gussow, and has been a key figure in the London blues community, notably through his long-standing association with the iconic Ain't Nothin' But... Blues Bar.
With his new band, Mazza has masterfully blended deep Southern blues with the vibrancy of a modern four-piece rock ensemble. This unique fusion of classic and contemporary elements sets Mazza apart as a dynamic and innovative force in the blues genre. He is a regular performer at venues like London's Ain't Nothing But... Blues Bar. Other notable venues include Ram Jam Records, Nightjar, The Roxy, Temple of Art and Music, The Magic Garden, and more. He also hosts weekly residencies at various blues bars in London.

Known as one of the finest blues pianists in the UK, Ranzoni combines virtuosic playing with a distinctive, soulful singing voice and an irresistible stage presence that always gets the crowd moving.
Born in London to Italian parents and raised between Rome and Milan, Ranzoni returned to the capital in 2003 to dedicate himself fully to music. Since then, he has built a reputation as an outstanding live performer, both as a solo artist and alongside some of the biggest names in the blues world.
Since 2009, Ranzoni has been the pianist for Mud Morganfield, the son of blues legend Muddy Waters. Together they have toured major European festivals, appeared on BBC2’s Later with Jools Holland, and shared stages with Robert Plant, John Mayall and Robert Cray. His performances have taken him to prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scott’s, The 100 Club, Boisdale, The Jazz Café and many more.
Dubbed the “Rockin’ Roman,” Ranzoni is also known for his versatility, bringing his own flair to pop, swing and rock ’n’ roll standards in cocktail bars, restaurants and private events. His unique tribute to Memphis Slim has been praised across Europe, while his songwriting has earned him a publishing contract and regular radio airplay, including on Paul Jones’ BBC show.
Awarded “Blues Instrumentalist of the Year” by Jools Holland himself, Ranzoni continues to win fans with every performance. Whether playing solo or with a full band, his shows are rich in energy, warmth and authenticity — a true celebration of the blues and beyond.
