So that is Thursday Throwdown exactly? Each Thursday after 11pm, we’re switching it up at Nightjar. Firstly there will be a free, late set of live music from 11.30 pm. But, better than that, thanks to Don Julio, we’re going to drink like it’s 2010! Our special late-night menu is a nod to the days (and prices!) of when Nightjar first opened, fifteen years ago.

Band leader and drummer Roy Pfeffer stands as one of London's most recognised ambassadors of New Orleans music.

Leading the acclaimed New Orleans funk band, The Big Smoke Family, they have become regulars at Ronnie Scott's and favourites on New Orleans' biggest radio station, WWOZ.

Pfeffer's performances offer a soulful mix of New Orleans jazz, Mardi Gras energy, and funk, with a repertoire ranging from Grant Green to Horace Silver and Idris Muhammad and many more.
